To enhance professional competence and expand the talent pool within the insurance sector, the HKSAR Government has launched the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Insurance Sector since 2016. One of the key initiatives, the Summer Internship Programme (SIP), aims to provide university and tertiary students with a better understanding of the operations within the middle and back office of the insurance industry. This initiative offers students valuable hands-on experience, facilitating their future career planning.

The SIP offers internship opportunities during the summer for undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in full-time accredited programme at local education institutions, as well as final-year sub-degree students transitioning to degree programmes. This experience is designed to enhance their understanding of the insurance sector, aiding in their career decision-making process.
