Post-secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2024

Customs and Excise Department

With overwhelming supports from participating students and supporting organisations, 2024 Custom YES Summer Internship Programme is back again! Through this Programme, participating students will be given the opportunity to work as an intern within the Customs & Excise Department (C&ED) or companies of C&ED counterparts, therefore obtaining valuable work experiences, understanding their career interests and preparing for future development.

 

This year, the Programme consists of two recruitment phases. In Phase 1, the Programme will offer a number of summer placement opportunities within Customs formations. Application for Phase 1 is now open. Programme details are as follows:

  2. Airport Command
  3. Land Boundary Command
  4. Ports and Maritime Command
  5. Office of Customs Affairs and Co-operation
  6. Office of Trade Single Window Operation
  7.  Trade Relations and Public Communications
  8. Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones Supervision
  9. Intelligence Bureau
  10. Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau
  11. Consumer Protection Bureau

Application Period:

14 March to 27 March 2024 *Now open for applications

Employment Period:

17 June to 26 July 2024 (6 weeks)

Internal Application Deadline

If you would like to be nominated by Career Services Section, please submit your application on or before 20 March 2024 (Wednesday). All applications should be submitted to the online portal, late submission will not be considered.

 

Otherwise, please submit your application with required documents by post on or before 27 March 2024 (Wednesday), according to the application method in the recruitment advertisement.

Important Notes

Past applicants of PSSIP often made careless mistakes which affected their chances of being admitted. 

Please read the following reminders before you download the application.

  1. Make sure you are eligible to apply before you start your application. Read the job description(s) carefully.
    (i.e. any requirement on the year of study? specific major/skills required?)
  2. Attach all relevant documents as requested.
    (e.g.  photocopies of academic transcript, HKDSE results, personal statements etc.)
  3. Mention as many relevant experience and skills as possible.
    (i.e. extra-curricular activities, computer skills, scholarships, work experience, volunteer services)
  4. Perform spell/grammar check before submission. It is recommended to type your application on computer for easy editing.
  5. Check all pages of the form to avoid missing information. Sign in all the space(s) that require your signature.
  6. Follow the format as suggested in each section of the form.  For example, in the “Education” column, usually you have to fill in:
    09/20XX  to 07/20XX    “September/Admission year”  to  “July/Expected Graduation Year”  “九月/入學年份” 至 七月/畢業年份”)
  7. Complete the form in EITHER Chinese or English for consistency.
  8. Pay attention to the internal deadlines set by HKSYU on Career Services Website. Late applications will not be accepted.
