Customs YES Summer Internship Programme 2024

Phase 2: Customs Counterparts

Apart from the placements of C&ED (Customs and Excise Department / 香港海關), in collaboration with C&ED counterparts’ organisations (organisation), the programme will provide students with the opportunities to work in the companies of C&ED counterparts in various fields or industries.

Summer interns in Phase 2 will be employed directly by the organisation. The salary of the internship will be provided by the organization. The organisation will determine the employment terms and conditions with reference to current market situation, nature of internship and statutory requirements.

Application Method:

All students studying in local post-secondary institutions should submit the completed application form with Annex – Priority list* together with all supporting documents listed below

  1. Detailed personal resume; and
  2. A copy of proof of student status; and
  3. A copy of academic qualification certificate(s); and
  4. A copy of public examination certificate(s); and
  5. A copy of official academic transcript(s).

Remarks:

  1. Applicants should indicate the vacancies applied in priorities in Annex: Priority List, with the first priority by “1”, the second one by “2” and so on. Applicant should indicate at least one (1) option with the maximum no. of options up to five (5).
  2. Customs YES members have higher priority (Customs YES會員優先) while non-member can also apply. You can fill-in “N/A” in the box of “Membership number of Customs YES” when filling the form. 
  3. Applications which are incomplete, or late, or not made in the prescribed form, or not duly signed will NOT be considered.

If you would like to be nominated by Career Services Section, please submit your application on or before 29 April 2024 (Monday). All applications should be submitted to the online portal, late submission will not be considered for nomination.


Otherwise if you do not need the nomination from OSA, you can directly submit your application with required documents by email customsyes@customs.gov.hk on or before 13 May 2024 (Monday), together with all supporting documents listed.

Important Notes

Past applicants often made careless mistakes which affected their chances of being admitted. 

Please read the following reminders before you download the application.

  1. Make sure you are eligible to apply before you start your application. Read the job description(s) carefully.
    (i.e. any requirement on the year of study? specific major/skills required?)
  2. Attach all relevant documents as requested.
    (e.g.  photocopies of academic transcript, HKDSE results, personal statements etc.)
  3. Mention as many relevant experience and skills as possible.
    (i.e. extra-curricular activities, computer skills, scholarships, work experience, volunteer services)
  4. Perform spell/grammar check before submission. It is recommended to type your application on computer for easy editing.
  5. Check all pages of the form to avoid missing information. Sign in all the space(s) that require your signature.
  6. Follow the format as suggested in each section of the form.  For example, in the “Education” column, usually you have to fill in:
    09/20XX  to 07/20XX    “September/Admission year”  to  “July/Expected Graduation Year”  “九月/入學年份” 至 七月/畢業年份”)
  7. Complete the form in EITHER Chinese or English for consistency.
  8. Pay attention to the internal deadlines set by HKSYU on Career Services Website. Late applications will not be accepted.
