HKIB x HKMA Future Banking Bridging Programme 2024

Over 300 students participated in the Future Banking Bridging Programme 2023, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Building on this success, The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) are excited to bring the programme back this November.

The Programme is designed to provide university students with an immersive and insightful experience in the banking sector, with bankers serving as mentors. We have gathered experienced practitioners from across Hong Kong to share practical knowledge and first-hand experiences. Most importantly, your students may have the opportunity to have a half-day job shadowing in Hang Seng Bank, experience a day in the life of a banker, and explore potential internship opportunities.

This year’s two-day free-of-charge programme will take place on 11 November 2024 and 25 November 2024 (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM). We would greatly appreciate your support in promoting the Programme through your university’s communication channels. This will give your students a chance to explore the banking sector and develop essential skills for a future career in the industry.

Students can obtain the application form via https://fbbp.hkib.org and submit the completed form along with copies of their HKID and Student ID to bridging@hkib.org. The application deadline is 4 November 2024. Students who successfully complete the Programme will receive a joint certificate awarded by The HKMA and HKIB, and enjoy a full waiver of HKIB membership fees for the duration of their studies. Additionally, we have introduced a new “Networking Corner” session where participants can connect with bankers and HR professionals to explore internships and other career opportunities.
