Maritime and Aviation Internship Scheme 2025

the registration of the Maritime and Aviation Internship Scheme (Maritime) (the Internship Scheme) under the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF) of the Transport and Logistics Bureau for Year 2025-26 by companies will commence in February 2025.  Companies in the local maritime sector are invited to register for the internship positions under the Internship Scheme.3

With effect from 1 April 2025,  the Internship Scheme is enhanced to reimburse the participating companies with a monthly honorarium up to 75% or HK$7,500 (whichever is lower) for each intern under an internship period of a minimum of four weeks (i.e. 28 days) and up to three months as prescribed under the Internship Scheme .  In order to maximise interns’ exposure in the maritime sector, each intern will only be sponsored once by the MATF under the same participating company.

Applications from companies are accepted throughout the year and the Internship Scheme is open to the Hong Kong residents who are lawfully employable in Hong Kong and currently* –

1. full-time local students (including students who are in the final year of their study) undertaking undergraduate or sub-degree programmes in any local institutions; or
2. full-time students (including students who are in the final year of their study) undertaking undergraduate or sub-degree programmes in any institutions outside Hong Kong; or
3. secondary six school leavers

*excluding the students currently undertaking the postgraduate programmes.
