Key to Success - Career and Life Planning Project for Ethnically Diverse Youth
Ethnically diverse youth in Hong Kong have been facing various challenges such as the language barrier. Such barrier hinders the youth’s career and employment opportunities and jeopardises their upward social mobility. With the support of Hongkong Land HOME FUND (“HOME FUND”), Key to Success – Career and Life Planning Project for Ethnic Minority Youth was launched in October 2021, and relaunched in September 2023; aiming at enhancing Chinese language proficiency of ethnically diverse secondary school students (F.3-F.6) and ethnically diverse community youth (aged 15-29), so as to improve their opportunities to access education and occupational attainment.
Service Objectives
- Improve ethnically diverse youth’s Chinese proficiency, especially in listening and reading;
- Enhance ethnically diverse youth’s understanding on career and life planning;
- Connect ethnically diverse youth with multiple career opportunities;
- Enhance readiness and support of employers to provide job opportunities and enabling workplace for ethnically diverse youth
