YDC Youth Ambassadors Programme 2026

The YDC Youth Ambassadors Programme (the YA Programme) is a flagship youth talent development programme co-organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR and the Youth Development Commission (YDC). First introduced in 2017 and regularised in 2019, the YA Programme aims at identifying and grooming a cadre of young talent who see themselves as future leaders in various fields, who are passionate to serve society, and who are willing to strive for the betterment of the country and Hong Kong.

Eligibility:

  • aged between 18 and 30 (as at 1 January 2026);
  • permanent residents of Hong Kong or Hong Kong identity cardholders who are currently registered as full-time students in Hong Kong;
  • possess excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership and teamwork skills;
  • demonstrate the passion to serve the Hong Kong community and strive for the future of our country and Hong Kong; and
  • willing to demonstrate unwavering commitment to participating in the entire programme.

Remarks: There is a limited nomination quota for HKSYU

Nomination Form

 

In the nomination form, applicants will be required to fill in personal identity, qualifications and experiences and write a project proposal in writing (within 400 words in Chinese or 600 words in English), or by video format (within 1 minute in mp4 format) on one of the given topics.

 

*Application will not be considered if a nominee fails to provide the “Project Proposal” as requested.

Internal Application Deadline

11:59pm, 4 February 2026 (Wednesday)

All applications should be submitted to the online portal, late submission will not be considered.

Remarks:

  • The internal deadline set by the institution (HKSYU) would be earlier than the deadline posted on the YDC website to allow time for screening and nomination. Kindly respect deadlines set by the institution.
  • YDC will invite shortlisted candidates to attend an assessment exercise to be held in early to mid-March 2026 (tentative).
